Le Château d'Avully - Brenthonne

Take public transport or a bicycle from the station to reach one of the most beautiful castles in the Lake Geneva area. Built in the 12th century, this restored castle, classified as a Historical Monument, has retained its medieval character. In addition to visiting the site, it is also possible to organise events and rent rooms.

Gardens, moat, drawbridge, and magnificent rooms decorated with murals will tell you about life in the Middle Ages and the history of the Savoy States (museum). The castle is 7 minutes by bus from the station or 15 minutes by bike.

This loop, ideal for family walks, takes you along shady paths in Planbois Forest, the largest plain forest in Haute-Savoie. It extends over a dozen towns and grew on an ancient glacial lake. It has an incredible mycological (more than 2000 species) and botanical diversity (500 to 600 species recorded including Marsh gladiola, Orchids...). The fauna is also very rich: European beaver, yellow-bellied toad, etc. The itinerary is 7.6 km long, with an altitude difference of 85 metres and an estimated walking time of about 2h15.
