Activities

A five-minute walk from the Machilly train station. Seven hectares and two metres deep: That's what this lake is. It is a man-made reservoir that provides a natural environment for fishing. Continue your walk and reach the Grange Vigny Marshes that play a fundamental role in the ecosystem’s balance. This is where the various species of the area come into contact.

Culminating at 1486 m, it is home to several nationally protected species. Specific regulations have been drawn up to ensure the protection of this mountain range, but hiking is still possible. The trails give you the opportunity to enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Lake Geneva basin, Mont Blanc, Green Valley, and Giffre Mountains.

Did you know ?

Machilly Station was inaugurated on 30 August 1880. Until the 50s, the small city of Machilly produced a large amount of raspberries. It produced up to half of the raspberry production in France (1900 tonnes per year). The 1962 drought led to a decline in this production.
